Inner West Council area is at the heart of this great city.

Here are 10 of my favourite places & things to do around the Inner West:

1. Best outdoor activity - Sydney Park - Sydney’s largest outdoor off lead dog park, this place is a lot of fun for dogs, children, picnics, walking, running or cycling. Try St Peter’s Park Run 8am on every Saturday.

2. Best coffee - Deluca coffee

3. Best café - Grab yourself a bagel from Small Talk Dulwich Hill

4. Best place to hang out when it’s raining - Tramsheds, this place is a collection of eateries, deli, boutique shopping and a great place to spend a rainy afternoon

5. Best view - Ballast Point Park for a view back over the harbour is a great place to picnic

6. Best little bar - Anywhere on the Inner West Ale Trail, representing the best craft breweries - but if I had to choose one, my personal favourite is Willie the Boatman (you may even run into Anthony Albanese there)

7. Best restaurant - Noi in Petersham - the value for money on this experience is off the charts

8. Best bookshop - Harry Hartog in the Marrickville Metro - great list of authors coming in for book signings

9. Best dog friendly activity - Any of the Inner West breweries, or if your pooch feels like a dip then Federal park where they swim in Rozelle Bay

10. Most touristy thing to do - Watch the NYE fireworks from Balmain East
