Life in Newtown, 2042.

Newtown is a well known vibrant suburb full of life. You can eat, drink and dance the day or night away, yet go home to a quiet leafy street. It has gentrified significantly over the last 15-20 years and is now a highly sought after suburb. A few of my favourite things about Newtown:

• The Vegan Mile; whether you are a meat lover, or a vegan, the vegan restaurants in Newtown are first class. There is also an abundance of great places to choose from, including Fauxmagerie for vegan cheese, so stroll along the vegan mile and take your pick

• Sydney Park, the largest off lead dog park in Sydney not only has a small pond for dogs to cool off, but numerous playgrounds for kids, cycle paths, skate park and perfect hills for an afternoon picnic.

• A.P Bakery. The most expensive pie in Sydney. The best pie in Sydney. Take your pick.

• If you have a green thumb and like to support small business, then check out Newtown Garden Market. It is full of quirky pot plants, unique plants and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable.

• Dendy Newtown is home to a lot of smaller film festivals and boutique releases, you can also catch a great film

• In terms of property buying, King St provides a great natural divider as to flight path noise - East of King street very little flight path noise, and West of King St you are in the path
